Think about this; All the OT saints were saved by grace. All the OT saints understood justification by faith alone. All OT saints looked forward to the consummation that Christ would bring, knowing that it was efficacious even in their day. In light of the recent controversy about law vs gospel, why is it that the OT saint was still obedient to law even though the same gospel was preached then? Why did they continue to offer sacrifices even though they knew well that ‘the blood of bulls and goats’ never took away sin? Simply, because God commanded it, in light of the gospel. To disregard this fact is dispensational error and to some degree, a redefining of gospel truth.
