If you use a hymnal in church, If I took a bunch of contemporary ‘worship’ songs, i.e. The Newsboys, Jars of Clay, Hillsong, Vineyard, David Crowder, etc., would you be against singing them in worship alongside the hymnal?
If you have an issue with this, you are probably being inconsistent. Neither are divinely inspired. The Hymns may be more biblically sound-however, I would sift through these groups and grab only biblically sound songs. Having said that, taking into consideration, both genre’s are biblical sound, why would you exclude one or the other?
