  Cigars I have Smoked

I really don't remember the first cigar I tried. It was years ago when I was in my early teens. I was at the time working in a small pharmacy. The general population coming into this store were elderly. I sold alot of cigars! At the time, there was not any restrictions on tobacco. Patrons would come into the store "smoking". I remember being quite fond of the aroma's. I figuired I would give it a try! It turned out that I was not amused.....still loved the smell, but the smoking part was meaningless at the time. Well, many years have passed. I am now in my mid forties. I began partaking of this type of entertainment about three years ago. A close friend of mine, brought a floavored cigar over (I believe it was a Rum Runner) and we sat in the hot tub and talked about Christ. It was a bonding moment. Sedate, relaxing. Not long after I wandered into a local cigar shop to see what this was all about.

I started smoking Churchills initially:

Fonseca (Loved their Maduro)

Cohiba (Not all it's cracked up to be). I do have a bundle in my Humi; yellow label, churchills. My wife tells me that after I smoke these that my breath is tainted ala -dog poo- for two days!!!

La Gloria Cubana (Excellent) Originally produced in Little Havana, Miami. You can get 2nd's of this cigar; it is called "El Credito". IMO, it is just as good. Many maunufacturers would call this their 1st!

Flor De Jalapa (The Churchhill was excellent) A brand from Thompson's Cigars.

Sinatra's (No!) Didn't really like these at all. At one point, I guess during the "boom", they were a top $ cigar.

In the most recent months, I have favored a larger ring guage. I prefer something larger than a 50.

Acid/ Kuba Kuba, Blondie (Kuba Kuba was cool. Don't ever put these in your humidor; they taint everything that's in there including the humidor)
* Not really one of my favorites tho....they are more of a novelty. The construction is nice; burn ok. The incense thingie gets old really fast.

Tambor (This smoke was a blend and had no ring but was one of the best cigars I ever smoked. I immediately bought 2 more bundles of 25) Actually, this is a Bahia second which comes from Tabacalera Tambor. Tony Borhani is the mad amn behind this smoke. As of recent, I have still a bundle in my humi!

Bohemian (Cool smoke! ) A V. Sinclair smoke. Nice! I have never had their red or black label.

Indian Tabac (Love their box pressed. Just tried their classic; it was good) *Super Fuerte. manufactured by Rocky Patel. His brainchild is the "Vintage".

Dominica (A cheap smoke w/ excellent character) I understand this is made by the Torano family. Nuff said!

Don Eglio (uh NO!)

Monte Cristo (Excellent)

Don Tomas.

La Flor Dominicana

CAO Brazilia

Hoyo De Monterey

Indios I have some of their "Puros Pyramide's".

Bahia; a Tony Borhani miracle. These are my favorites right about now.

Cacique These can be found also in Little Havana! I like them. Nice construction, and taste!

Cupido Criollo: Made by Cuban Crafters. I understand that the market is closing on these babies. They have a spicy flavor!

El credito: The La Gloria 2nd!!!

Oliva Bold: From the makers of Flor De Oliva!!! The first one I smoked, I puked on. Make sure you eat a full meal before partaking of these babies.

Perdomo: Another Miami miracle! I have smoked most of their b lines. "Counterfeit Cubans"; Most of the box was plugged. Oh well. I did get my hands on some of their "over-run" Corona's. My oh my. These are some of the best cigars I have ever smoked! I just love them. At 30 dollars for a bundle of 25 one cannot go wrong. More are on the way in the mail.

As of recent, I have become sold on Nick Perdomo's products. The Counterfeit Cubans have rectified themselves, but they sit in my humidor at present. What I am so moved about is the Perdomo 2 (known as Perdomo 'squared' or Milenario's). I tried my first one this morning with my coffee; it was superb! This one was a maduro lonsdale. My oh my, what a cigar. They are not cheap. If you can find them for less than $150.00, grab em!

I prefer the darker wrapper "Maduro". Of the lighter wrapper, I enjoy a Connecticut leaf.

The shape I prefer is the Belicoso or Torp!

Honduran or Nicauraguan!

In regards to Cubans, you never know if it's really from Cuba. As far as taste goes, not much of a difference. I could be wrong tho........

Anything made by Altadis will be acceptable. The Fuente line are my favorites at the time of this entry.

H. Upmann Cammies!!!!
