Welcome to Semper Reformanda
The battle cry of the United States
Marines is "Semper Fidelis". Defined, this means "Forever Faithful". If you have ever
met a Marine, you are well aware that they are a different breed. Their
standard of conduct, their dress code and their readiness to protect the
homeland places them shoulders above the rest. They have vowed to die if
need be! Let it be said that we Christians, we whom
have been engrafted into Christ Jesus, whom have been given the gift of
the Holy Spirit, whom have no longer a fear of death and dying, whom have
an eternal home, where even now, mansions are being built for us to reside
in glory forever with Him whom has died for us; that we will finish the
race with power and joy, with the ultimate goal of glorifying Him, our
beloved King!
Our
battle cry here at Semper Reformanda
is much like the cry of
the Marines; "Forever Faithfully Reforming". We will die for the cause if
need be. Martin Luther said it best when he was questioned before the Diet
of Worms.
Luther said, "Your Imperial Majesty and Your Lordships demand a simple
answer. Here it is, plain and unvarnished. Unless I am convicted
[convinced] of error by the testimony of Scripture or (since I put no
trust in the unsupported authority of Pope or councils, since it is plain
that they have often erred and often contradicted themselves) by manifest
reasoning, I stand convicted [convinced] by the Scriptures to which I have
appealed, and my conscience is taken captive by God's word, I cannot and
will not recant anything, for to act against our conscience is neither
safe for us, nor open to us. On this I take my stand. I can do no other.
God help me."
Our conscience is held captive by the Holy
Word of God. We have no choice; there is no turning back and no
compromise.
Much
like Steven Curtis Chapman sings, we must burn the ships. In the spring of
1519, Cortez and his crew set sail from Spain to the new land. When the
going got tough, many of the crew requested that they head back to the
life they knew; a life of comfort and ease. Cortez replied, we have come
this far by faith, let the ships burn! We Christians must fix our faces
like flint. We must place our hands upon the plow and not look back. There
is nothing there friend. Christ is our hope. Is he precious to you my
friend? Does life and it's frivolities draw you away or nigh unto Him whom
is able to even cast thy soul into flames for eternity?
The modus operandi of Semper Reformanda
is to faithfully endeavor
to reform the Church of Christ
to the Holy Word of God. In this age of
relativism, easy believism, and universalism, we have vowed to rightfully
reject all things contrary to the word of God and plant our flag in
protest.
We
pray that your time here is profitable to your soul.
Eph 1:17, " That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of
glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of him: Eph 1:18 The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints..."
Eph 1:19, "And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who
believe, according to the working of his mighty power."
