The word of God is the only true thing that will nourish the believer. Deny yourself of a nutritious meal for a few days and watch the emaciation that occurs; not only physically, but mentally. Have you ever witnessed a person who is spiritually bankrupt in dread and despair? Many a person has died from sever depression. Neglect your spiritual diet and you will surely perish.
Jesus said it best, ‘man does not live by bread alone but the word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God’.
Give your child a poor diet and he will perish…..
The apostles challenged Jesus on food:
John 6:26 Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. 27 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”
John 4:31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”
32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”
33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”
34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest! 36 And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.”
Thanks to Pastor Chad Mullinix for his exhortive message yesterday.
